The future of tennis…
Just like any sport evolves over time.
Technology, Training, Research and Innovation all play a role in how a sport develops. Many of the improvements in tennis has been as a result of better training, better education and technological advancements in rackets, strings and training equipment.
What does the future hold? It is very possible that the top servers in the game may hit serves in excess of 150 MPH on a consistent basis. Especially if technological evolution is allowed to happen.
Here is an article with some video from WIRED on this topic. They came out to Atlanta to our Institute and we put a beginner tennis player through our Assessment and discussed this topic and how science and innovation will help continue to improve the quality of serving. Click Here
Some other great input here from Dave Ramos who is the Director of Performance Analytics at the USTA and I am happy to say was my second hire when I was at the USTA. He has done great things in the tennis industry and it was fun to have him involved in this project.
